BIG glass or LITTLE glass

I found the reading to be very fascinating and how all of the terms are explained. As I went through my weekend I tried to look for an example of what I had read about. I am a lucky girl, I have grandparents that live in town and who always are feeding me. Whenever I come over we have a very traditional sit down meal. My grandparents were raised in the generation that women must have a feminine personality and a man must have a masculine personality. As I watched my grandma set the table, I noticed that she gave the women the smaller glasses and the men larger glasses. I found this very interesting, because of my female gender I was given a small glass, and because of my brothers male gender he was given a larger glass. As my grandma continued to fill our plates, she placed half sandwiches on the women’s plates, and full ones on the men’s representing the idea that females need to eat to be skinny and males are just to eat to eat. I could the misconception of how people view sex and gender as the same thing, rather than our biological sex and our learned gender.
